This was my first time ever using oil paints and i really tried to capture the different colors of the apple with the different highlights and shadows. i used a light layer of acrylic paint as the blue background but used oil for the green.
In this piece i used pastel color pencils for the shoes and regular pastels for the background. i tried to use different stroke patterns in the background for the wall to create some depth. i didnt include the other shoes behind the heels because i didn't have enough time. i enjoyed using the pastels because they're fun to experiment with.
I really liked the angle of this picture, i had to rush towards the end which explains the lack of detail. The use of going light to dark really helped in this piece with the key/key chain. It was difficult capturing the highlights in the dark objects and details in the keychain but i also like the simplicity of how i portrayed it. This was my first time using prisma colored pencils on a drawing. I chose to do nail polish because I thought it would be a good reflecting object to try for the first time. I did the background with the colors because it went along with the different colors I used when I colored the bottle.
